The Name-Change Ticket is an item featured in Dark Chronicle, that allows the name of a handheld weapon to be changed. It can be bought from Need's Medal Exchange for forty medals once Need has been recruited as a Support character, and is consumed upon use. Weapons that have had their name changed will have a pair of brackets (『』) around the new name. The process cannot be undone, and renamed weapons cannot be given a new name afterward. Using the Ticket on a weapon on the PlayStation 4 port of the game earns the bronze trophy "Alternate Alias".
Using the Ticket to change a weapon's name to that of an existing weapon, which instead of only changing the weapon's name, will actually change it to the weapon to which the name belongs to. It will come with the new weapon's base attributes and abilities, effectively ignoring all of its current stats and abilities. The only difference between a Ticket-changed weapon and one acquired through normal means is the brackets around the name.
This allows players to obtain end-game weaponry extremely early in the game, including LEGEND and Island King. Earning weapons in this way does not count towards the trophies "A Royal Arsenal" or "LEGENDary". Notably, the Name-Change Ticket is the only way to obtain the Royal Sword.
