The Drill Arm is a melee weapon arm for the Ridepod in Dark Chronicle. It is not available for purchase, but like all Ridepod parts, the Drill Arm and its later variants can be invented. The Drill Arm's melee combo is identical to that of the other melee weapons, but does not actually punch enemies. Rather, it will proceed to 'drill' them, rapidly dealing damage with each series of strikes with each drill. The relatively weak but numerous attacks make up for its low Attack stat, plus the number of strikes means it is useful for effectively locking enemies into being stunned.
Although it can attack for longer at a time, this means it is easier to be interrupted mid-attack. The only attributes the Drill Arm possesses are Smash and Cyclone, making it useful against armored and flying enemies. The Drill Arm I cannot be invented and build until Chapter 4, with both version II and II being available in Chapter 5, although only the first two are considerably cheap at the time, for only around 800 Gilda each. The Drill Arm IV is considerably expensive however, costing over 34,000 Gilda, and is unavailable until Chapter 7 as well. If the required Diamond, which is responsible for most of the price, is unavailable, it can be bought in Chapter 8.
